Foot and Ankle Completely Healed

February.14.12

Two years ago, Shirley came on a Thursday evening as a guest to the School of Healing and Impartation in Redding with speakers Randy Clark and Bill Johnson. She heard it on the news on TV that there was a service on healing and knew it was from Bethel but knew nothing else. She had a friend who had had a massive brain stem stroke, and she wanted to stand in for him. When they were praying for metal in a person, she stood for her two screws in her leg above the ankle. She had had a complete fracture that had broken her ankle. Doctors were so concerned with her leg bone, they didn’t set her ankle properly and she was in a wheelchair and crutches for a year and a half. Then she had a walking brace. Her ankle was completely stiff and she would trip a lot. She didn’t want to break anything else. She responded to the word of knowledge and received prayer from those around her, and they said to do something she couldn’t do before. She moved her ankle up and down and around. She demonstrated that for the first time in 22 years, she could roll her ankle. She was so excited, she let out a loud squeal and started laughing when she was healed.

She could feel the tendons that had not been used for so long as she walked. People back at home noticed that she was no longer limping. A month after the that, she had jury duty in Weaverville, and she always carries a slip about the metal in her ankle because she knows she sets off metal detectors in that courthouse but she could not set off the metal detector. She had always set it off there and another place every time she entered.

She still had some residual issues though in her foot. The second night of the school this year, Pastor Bill called out a word of knowledge for a right ankle that didn’t get set right, and she thought, “Oh, I’m going to get to finish this.” She stood, and someone prayed for it, and all of a sudden, someone grabbed her foot and started pulling it while she was seated getting prayer, and it got really, really hot, and she opened her eyes and said, “Did you just pull my foot?” Both of the people praying for her said, “No, but we felt the heat, and we felt your leg pull.” The hands, she realized, were so big. She wanted to see what she could do that she couldn’t do before. She had tried to jump clear off the ground before but really couldn’t. She can now jump completely off the floor and can walk straight, and her hip doesn’t bother her; she can tell it’s coming into alignment. She is relearning how to walk. She was walking down the steps one at a time before. Now she is learning to walk normally, and she can pick her feet up better.

Those who call Bethel their "home" church regularly give a tithe to the Lord. The word "tithe" means "tenth" and it is a way of honoring God with the first 10% of our income.
