Darliene Johnson, wife of Earl Johnson, a retired Assemblies of God pastor, was asked by one of her granddaughters to make a cookbook of their family's favorite recipes. Darliene couldn't "just do a cookbook," so she decided to try floral watercolors, because of her love for flowers, along with hand written recipes. Earl, who was still living at the time, excitedly approved each page! - he was her "biggest fan!"

All of the recipes were favorites, but probably the most popular were the cinnamon rolls. She loved letting the grandchildren "help" from the time they were about 2 years old, they have great memories of getting to roll out pieces of dough and dip them in the cinnamon sugar. The first 3 printings were done by one of those granddaughters at Bethel Church (where Earl had pastored and where Bill, their oldest son now pastors).

The completed project illuminates the wonderful Johnson family legacy, from its delicate cover with old fashioned pink roses to its floral index page with lavender and pink hydrangeas.

What started as a simple project of love for the grandchildren, became something that many others wanted to experience as well. Darliene prays that it will be a blessing to many - thanking God for His creative gift in her.

Proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to City Ministries International, a Christian-based program that helps inner-city children, headed by her youngest son, Bob Johnson.
